Brenda K. (Davis) Smith

Brenda K. Smith,  71, of Rootstown passed away Friday June 5, 2015 at the Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna, Ohio.  She was born July 29, 1943 in Ravenna to the late  Eugene and Virginia Davis.  Mrs. Smith has lived in Rootstown most of her life and  was a member of the Portage County Gardner's  and Herb Society, a charter member of the former Rootstown Civic Club, enjoyed gardening, going to garage sales ands loved to travel, especially cruising .  She retired in 2001 as an Administrative Secretary from Kent State University after 33 years of service.  Survivors include her husband Bill Smith whom she married March 3, 1962, her children Scott "Duke" (April) Smith of Irmo, South Carolina, Denise (David) Paulat of Ravenna , her grandchildren  Christian Stutter, Dakota Mellin, Scott M. Smith. Bobbie Paulat, Abigail Smith  and her great grandson Nikolai Miller.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Larry Eugene Davis.  Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday June 10, 2015 at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel with calling hours from 10:00 AM until time of services.  Rev.
