Burldine “Dena” Heaton (Male), age 91, of Mantua, passed away on Thursday October 26, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Dena was born February 22, 1932 in Lumberport, WV to Bernardo and Catherine Ambrosia Male. On August 5, 1950, Dena married the love of her life, Roy Sr. Together, they moved their family to Mantua, where they spent over 60 years. Dena devoted her entire life to her family and friends, caring for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Her favorite times were having the entire family around the dining room table. Whether it be a birthday celebration or Sunday dinner, she never let anyone leave her house hungry. Dena enjoyed watching the Cavaliers, Walker, Texas Ranger, and Gunsmoke. She was a member of the Mantua County Baptist Church. Dena is survived by her forever grateful family, including brother, Benardo Male Jr, sons, Edward Sr. (Nancy), Timothy (Peggy), grandchildren, Edward Jr, Scott (Danielle), Paul, Jennifer (Chuck), Joshua, Emily (Gabby), great grandchildren, Kaleb, Kole, Kade, Katelynn, Jesse, Rebecca, and many other friends and family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Sr, sister and best friend, Kay, son, Roy Jr, daughter in law, Jeanette, brothers, Sam, Pete, Johnny, Anthony "Tony", Joe, Louie Male, infant twin sister, Tressie, infant sister, Rosie, and two infant brothers, Pete and Frankie Male. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM on Monday October 30 at Mantua Country Baptist Church, 12385 Chamberlain Road, Aurora. Dena will be laid to rest at Westlawn Cemetery in Mantua. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Dena’s honor to Mantua County Baptist Church. Condolences and memories of Dena may be shared with her family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com
