David L DeSimio

David L. DeSimio, 72 of Atwater, passed away Tuesday December 24, 2019 at the Woodlands Health and Rehab in Ravenna, Ohio.  He was born December 27, 1946 in Ravenna, Ohio to the late Louis and Marion (Sampson) DeSimio.  David has lived in Atwater since 1978 and retired from Parker Hannifin where he works as a maintenance man.  He at one time was also a deputy for the Portage County Sheriff's office.  In 1964 he became a graduate from Ravenna High School and his hobbies included memberships in the Portage Amateur Radio Club, the Portage County Radio Amateur Club, the Ravenna Moose 1234, and was a 32 degree Mason.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Robert.  Survivors include his wife Vivian (Schimoeller) DeSimio whom he married August 22, 1970, his son David E. (Sandra) DeSimio of Louisville, his grandchildren Samantha, Jacob, Abigail and his brother Richard (Kathleen) DeSimio of Ravenna.  Calling hours will be Saturday  from 2:00 PM until time of funeral services at 4 PM at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Ravenna Chapel.  At his request, cremation will follow the services.  Inurnment will be in St. Mary Cemetery at a later date.  Condolences and memories of David may be shared with his family  at www.sscfuneralhomes.com.  The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations please be made to the Portage County Animal Protective League.
