Della E. Hays entered the eternal rest of the Lord on Friday, March 25 after a courageous battle with cancer. Della was born in Akron, Ohio in 1936 to the late  George K and Evelyn E. Ball.   She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Kennard B. Hays.  Della leaves behind three children:  Christine (Tony) Monaco, Kennard R. (Becky) Hays, Joan (Russ) Penix, five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.  She is also survived by four sisters and one brother:  Laurel (Robert) Todd, Lynn Hamilton, Nancy (Charles) Gill, Roseann Carter, and Larry Ball.   She also leaves behind two sisters-in-law:  Bernita May and Sylvia Hays.  Now in heaven, she is reunited with her husband, parents, two brothers:  George Ball and Charles Ball.   Della retired from Huntington National Bank in 1998.   She and her husband traveled across much of the United States.  Their favorite trip was a three-week camping trip to Alaska.  Della was an active member of the Marlboro Christian Church.   Her loved ones miss her thoughtfulness, her commitment to family, and her amazing bread rolls.  Calling hours will be Tuesday March 29, 2016 from 4:30 Pm until 7:30 PM  and on Wednesday March 30, 2016 from 10:00 AM until time of funeral services at 11:00 AM at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel with Rev. Ed Harnish officiating.  Della will be laid to rest next to her husband in Crown Hill Cemetery Twinsburg, Ohio.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the memorial fund of Marlboro Christian Church, 9838 Edison Street NE, Alliance OH 44601.  Memories and condolences of Della may be shared with the family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com.
