Dennis "Denny" Weaver

Dennis “Denny” Weaver, 80 of Streetsboro, formerly of North Canton, passed away Saturday, December 31, 2022.  A staple in his various communities, Denny will forever be remembered as a kind, loving, generous person who brightened the lives of everyone who knew him and who frequently went out of his way to help anyone he could. Born a few minutes ahead of twin sister Judith on December 29, 1942 in Oakmont, PA to Herman H. and Freda F. (Helman) Weaver, Denny married Marilyn Morgenstern in 1964. The two eventually journeyed to Ohio, then to Michigan (where they welcomed both Todd Christopher Weaver and Margaret Ellen Weaver), then to Chicago, and then back to Ohio where they settled down for more than 40 years. Denny worked proudly for Union Carbide until the late 1980s when he fulfilled a lifelong dream and started his own sales and marketing company, D. Weaver & Associates.  In 2017, after being diagnosed with Parkinson's, he and Marilyn moved up to Streetsboro to be closer to Margaret and her family in Hudson, OH.  Denny retired entirely in 2021 to spend more time with his family. Regardless of where his travels took him, Denny always had a kind word and a sunny smile, and he was quick to show his appreciation and love. Whether he was wrapping a loved one in a big hug, golfing with friends, or bringing doughnuts to the men and women who serviced his car, Denny valued everyone. One particularly special group in his life were the “brothers” of his son Todd’s fraternity.  After Todd lost his life in New York on 9/11, some of the brothers created “Weavefest” – a multi-day golf outing to celebrate Todd’s life. Denny looked forward to this trip every year until his health precluded him from attending. Denny is survived by his wife Marilyn, daughter Margaret, son-in-law Todd Gilbert, and his grandchildren Brooklyn and Callan (whose middle name is Dennis in honor of her Papa).  A Celebration of Life is scheduled for March 25th at 11am at Community Christian Church in North Canton, Ohio.  In lieu of flowers, memorials and donations can be made to the North Canton Community Christian Church (210 N. Main Street, North Canton, OH 44720) or to the Todd C. Weaver Memorial Fund at Western Reserve Academy (115 College Street, Hudson, OH 44236).  The Todd C. Weaver ‘89 Prefect Prize is an award given annually to two senior leaders who contribute to the improvement of school life and provide model behavior.
