Doris Marie (Townend) Franklin

Doris Marie Franklin, 88, of Streetsboro, passed away Tuesday February 27, 2024 at the Avenue of Aurora.  On January 20, 1936, she was born in Beaverdale, PA to the late Richard R. and Florence M. (Catchpole) Townend.  Doris had worked at Pop's Truck stop as a waitress and night manager before moving to Phoenix, AZ where she worked in the deli department at Smith's Food and Drug Store.  Moving back to Streetsboro, she was a faithful member of the Streetsboro Church of Christ.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Roy Austin Franklin.  Survivors include her daughter Eva Marie Long, four grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren and siblings Kenny Townend, Ron Townend, Violet Miller,  Margaret Dillon, Jean Reddic, Melverta Turek.  Calling hours will be Monday March 4, 2024 from 10:00 Am until time of funeral services at 11:00 Am at the Streetsboro Church of Christ.  She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Cedar Grove Church of Christ  Cemetery Andalusia, Alabama.  Condolences and memories of Doris may be shared with her family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com.
