Dorsel D Joy

Dorsel D. Joy, 84 of Newton Falls, passed away Friday January 7, 2022 at his home with his family by his side.  On May 11, 1937 in Sherman, West Virginia he was born to the late Fred and Grace (Kimes) Joy.  Mr. Joy has lived in Newton Falls and was formerly of Rootstown.  He retired from St GoBain on Akron in 2003 where he worked as an extrusion operator.  Mr. Joy was a veteran of the US Army serving his country in the Korean War and later in life enjoyed doing gardening, yardwork and watching the birds and squirrels.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.  Survivors include his wife 58 years Phyllis K. (Lay) Joy whom he married April 14, 1963, his children Brian Joy, Melissa (Clint) Andrews and grandson Denver Joy.  In honoring the family's request, cremation has taken place.  Memorial calling hours will be Saturday January 15, 2022 from 12 Pm until time of the Memorial Services at 1:00 PM at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel with Rev.
