Eleanor J. (Schwab) Blank

Eleanor Schwab Blank was born in Akron, Ohio on May 23, 1921, the daughter of the late Norman and Cordelia Schwab, passed away Monday October 24, 2022.  She was preceded in death by her husband William E. Blank in 1986, her grandson John Andrews, her brothers William Schwab, Alvin and his wife Helen Schwab, her sister Ethelyn and her husband Ed Socha and very dear friend and companion William "Duke" Turner.  She is Survived by her daughter Lana (Thomas) Horvath, two granddaughters Kimberly Blank, Shannon Andrews, two great grandchildren Jessie (Kevin) Grenfell, William Chance Blank, her great-great grandson Karson John Gage Grenfell, sister-in-law Joanne Schwab Butz and very special friend of the family, Brian Thrasher.  Eleanor was a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Ravenna and had retired from Bank One in Ravenna in 1986. Eleanor lived her life in faith and worshiped God.  She loved being a wife, mother and grandmother.  In her younger years, she loved singing in the choir, working the horse shows and playing golf with her husband. The most precious to her were her family and friends that she loved with all her heart and soul. She would never pass up an opportunity to play a game of Rummy. She lived to be 101 years old and became a great-great grandma. Her philosophy to staying young was to keep moving and spending time with her loved ones.  Heaven has gained a beautiful, loving Angel. We will continue to love her, miss her and enjoy our wonderful memories until we meet again.  Calling hours will be 5-8 PM Monday October 31, 2022 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel where services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday November 1, 2022 with the Rev Carol Evans officiating.  She will be laid to rest next to William Blank at Grandview Memorial Park Ravenna, Ohio.  Condolences and memories of Eleanor may be shared with her family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com.  In lieu of flowers you may send a donation to Grace Episcopal Church, 250 Cedar Avenue, Ravenna, Ohio.
