Ethel L. "Sherry" (Spears) Vanderpool

Ethel L. "Sherry" Vanderpool, 76 of Ravenna passed away Friday July 9, 2021 at her home with her family by her side.  On February 17, 1945 in Madison, West Virginia she was born to the late Roy and Bessie (Pauley) Spears.  She was named after her aunt, Ethel Carrie Pauley. Living in Ravenna most of her life and she was a member of the Mission Baptist Temple in Stow, Ohio where she worked in the kitchen with others preparing dinners and also decorating the church for holidays.  She actively worked as an LPN for Interm Healthcare Akron Visiting Nurses before retiring.  Survivors include her husband Walter Vanderpool whom she married December 11, 2009 her children Kenny Dolin, Jackie Dolin, Vickie Lipper, her step children,  several grandchildren and great grandchildren, her sister Lorraine Thompson and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Dewayne Porter, her granddaughter Kiah Exline, her former husband Elmer "Jake" Burnett and brothers Ernie and Ralph Spears.  Calling hours will be Thursday July 15, 2021 from 4-6 Pm at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel where funeral services will be Friday July 16, 2021 at 12 Noon with Pastor Ryan Gilin Officiating.  Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery Ravenna, Ohio.  Condolences and memories of Sherry may be shared with her family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com.
