Gary M. Beech 67 of Stow passed away Saturday, August 1, 2020. He was born January 21, 1953 in Cleveland, Ohio to Marvin and Rose (Oblinger) Beech. Gary grew up in Maple Heights and graduated in 1971 from Maple Heights High School. A resident of Stow for the past 25 years, he worked for Pepsi Cola for 40 years, where he met his wife Pam. Gary worked beside his father Marv at Pepsi with his father in sales and Gary in operations. He had a passion for sports, especially softball and baseball. He played many years in the Maple Heights Men's League, developing lifelong friendships. It can be debated if Gary was one of the best players on the team, but what isn't in question is that he was the most versatile. He played all outfield and infield positions along with pitching and excelled at all of them. His love of baseball continued when his son Tim started playing. Gary didn't coach on the field, but was known to let his opinion be heard from the stands. Confrontations with umpires were not uncommon. He was not fond of animals, but when Tim brought home a dog five years ago, Gary was known to bring home a couple extra burgers from McDonalds for the dog. We think he secretly liked dogs. Gary had to retire due to health issues and loved to sit on the porch in any weather, smoking a cigar, listening to sports talk radio and being the one man neighborhood watch patrol. Survivors include his mother Rose Beech, wife Pam (Demich), son Tim (Maria), grandson Brantley and siblings Sandie Macha(Budd, deceased) Susan Hercik (Greg)and Robert Beech(Jacqueline)his nephews, nieces and great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Marvin Beech. Calling hours will be from 3 PM until time of funeral service at 6 PM Thursday, August 6, 2020 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Streetsboro Chapel. Reverend William Snyder will officiate. Private burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery in Streetsboro. In lieu of flowers memorials should be made to the American Kidney Association. Gary is now at peace, reunited with family and friends who passed before him. He is drinking a Pepsi, smoking his cigar and no longer in pain.
