Gaynell E. Shope

Gaynell E. Shope 78 of Streetsboro passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at UH Portage Medical Center. She was born October 5, 1947 in Ravenna, Ohio to Robert W. and Gaynelle V. (Call) Shope. Gaynell was a member of the Streetsboro United Methodist Church, retired teacher and Middle School Athletic Director for Streetsboro City Schools and she owned and operated the Streetsboro Professional Building. She was a life member of the Portage County Animal Protective League, the Ohio Education Association, Portage County Retired Teachers Association, International Jugglers Association, BMW Motorcycle Owners of America, Akron BMW Motorcycle Club, Mosquito Beemers Motorcycle Club and had her pilots license. Survivors include her sister Roberta D. Reed and several co-workers and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Robert C. Shope. Calling hours will be from 6 - 8 PM Monday, October 20, 2025 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Streetsboro Chapel. Funeral services will be at 1 PM Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at the funeral home with Pastor Gordon Blickle officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Streetsboro. In lieu of flowers memorials should be made to the Portage County APL or Shriner's Children's Hospital.
