George Slovinsky Obituary


George Raymond Slovinsky 88 of Charlestown passed away Sunday, March 3, 2019. He was born January 16, 1931 in Sagamore, PA to George and Catherine (Gundy) Slovinsky. George was a veteran of the US Marine Corp, a member of Immaculate Conception Church, the Ravenna American Legion and Ravenna VFW. He worked in the maintenance department for GM retiring after 31 years and had worked in the coal mines when he was younger. Survivors include his wife of 60 years Irene (Gresock), children George Slovinsky and Christine (Mike) Slovinsky, siblings Catherine Lewis, Rita Juart, Joe, Dave, Mike and Steve Slovinsky and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Delmas, John, Paul, Donald and Lillian. There will be no calling hours, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM Thursday, March 7, 2019 at Immaculate Conception Church with Father William Kraynak officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery in Ravenna. In lieu of flowers memorials should be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 15120, Chicago, IL 60693-5120.
