James H. Alloway, 96, of Streetsboro, passed away Monday July 29, 2019 at the Gardens at Liberty Park in Streetsboro, Ohio. On July 11, 1923 Mr. Alloway was born to the late Arthur and Annie (Melton) Alloway in Cleveland, Tennessee. He has lived in Streetsboro since 1960 and was a former member of Faith Baptist Church. When he was 59 and 1/2 he retired as a welder from TRW in Euclid and after retirement he became quite the handyman, especially in woodworking where he loved to make furniture and cabinets for family and friends. Back in Tennessee he was involved with CCC Camps where he helped make roads and dams. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his grandson Jason Duris, four brothers and two sisters. Survivors include his wife Barbara (Stewart) Alloway whom he married Dec. 23, 1946, his children Pamela (John) Duris, Sharon (Charles) Leichliter, Keith Alloway, Shawn (Margie) Alloway, Kris Alloway, his grandchildren, John, James, Bret, Brad, Eric, Adam, Beth, Joshua Lauren, Jacob, Cody, Brittany and eight great grandchildren. Calling hours will be from 10:00 Am until time of family services at 11:00 AM on Friday August 2, 2019 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Streetsboro Chapel.
