James L Veppert

James L. Veppert, 74 of Rootstown passed away Thursday January 7, 2021 at the UH Portage Medical Center in Ravenna, Ohio.  On December 25, 1946 James was born in Ravenna, Ohio to the late Joe P. and Jean (Evans) Veppert.  James has lived in Rootstown the past 36 years and had retired from Workman Industrial Services of Kent where he worked as a mechanic supervisor.  He was very proud of being a member of the Seabees as a veteran of the US Navy serving in Vietnam.  James was very fond of camping, gardening and going out to eat.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Marilyn R. Veppert and his brother Alan L. Veppert.  Survivors include his wife of 37 years Donna J. (Davis) Veppert whom he married June 10, 1983,  his daughters Toni L (Donald Siciliano) Veppert, Tina L. (William) Kemble, his granddaughters Natalie H. and Rosalie M. Kemble, his siblings Dorothy (John) Serva, Chuck (Joyce) Veppert and sister in law Donna Veppert.  At his request, cremation has taken place.  Graveside services with military honors will be 1:00 PM Friday January 15, 2021 at Edinburg Cemetery Edinburg, Ohio.  The family asks that in lieu of flowers any donations please be made to the Wounded Warriors.  Condolences and memories of James may be shared with his family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com.
