John Kotlar, Sr.

John Kotlar, Sr. 92 of Freedom Twp., passed away Friday March 20, 2020 at his home with his family by his side.  He was born September 12, 1927 in Marghita, Romania to the late Istvan and Rosalia (Bot) Kotlar.  Mr. Kotlar has lived in Freedom since 1977 where he worked on his dairy farm and retired from the Harris Corporation in Cleveland where he worked as a machine operator.  He is survived by his wife Margit (Lazar) Kotlar whom he married January 2, 1957, his sons John (Valerie) Kotlar, Jr, Steven (Theresa) Kotlar, Alexander Kotlar , his grandchildren Joshua (Sarah) Kotlar, Derric (Lauren) Kotlar and Jenni (Lucas) Sproul.  At this time private family  services will be held at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel.  A public memorial service may be held at a later date.  Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery Ravenna, Ohio.  Condolences and memories of John may be shared with his family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com.
