John Tarby Obituary

John Tarby, 73, of Plymouth, Ohio passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2022 following a long illness.  John was born September 20, 1948 in Uniontown, PA to George and Toni Tarby.  John was formerly a long-time resident of Streetsboro, Ohio where he graduated from Streetsboro High School in 1966. John was an outstanding football player in high school, and was very popular.  After high school he began his career as an engineer with the B&O-Chessie Railroad/CSX Railroad, where he retired. John also owned multiple rental properties, and enjoyed being involved in various business projects.  He was an avid animal lover, and enjoyed taking long walks. John and his wife Melody were very close.  When John became ill six years ago Melody became his caregiver, and was the best caregiver he could have had through those difficult times. John was preceded in death by his parents George and Toni Tarby, and father-in-law and mother-in-law Raymond and Hazel Brooks.  He is survived by his wife Melody; his son Chris (Kelle) Tarby; his sister Mary Beth (Bill) Hartung; his grandchildren Brittany, Samantha, Cory, and Kyla; his nephew Andy (Charlotte) LaFlame and their children Andrew and Danielle; his sister-in-law Beverly Flaherty, her son Brian (Shannon) Flaherty and their son Will; and his sister-in-law Bonnie (Ed) Cordle, her daughter Megan (George) Johnston and their children Skylar, Seth, Hayden, and Liam. In honoring John’s wishes, cremation has taken place.  Condolences and memories of John may be shared with his family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com.
