Judy L. (Templeton) Thompson

Judy L. Thompson, 74, of Ravenna,  passed away  after a short but courageous battle with cancer on Thursday June 6, 2024 at University Hospital of Cleveland.  She was born on November 24, 1949 in Akron, Ohio to the late Russell L. and Virginia F. (Carr) Templeton.  Being a lifelong Portage County resident she had worked at Robinson Memorial Hospital (UH Portage) in Ravenna as a Registered Nurse before retiring in 2017 from Summa Care Insurance, all the while working on the family farm.  She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Freedom.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded  in death by her grandson Mason Myers and brother Russell L. "Buddy" Templeton, Jr.  Survivors include her  husband of 52 years, Donald E. Thompson whom she married October 2, 1971, her children Donnie (Laurie) Thompson, Deana (James) Myers-Voyk, her grandchildren Kaitlynn Thompson, Kendall Thompson Kylee Myers, Matthew Myers, Brantlee Myers, her great granddaughter Kynzleigh and sister Mary Day.  In honoring her requests, cremation has taken place and private family services will held on the family farm.  Please visit www.sscfuneralhomes.com to share a memory, offer a condolence or light a candle.
