Karl A. Kalinowski, Jr. (1947-2024)

Karl A. Kalinowski, Jr., age 76, peacefully passed away on March 27, 2024, at UH Portage Medical Center in Ravenna, Ohio, with his devoted family by his side. Born in Nemacolin, PA, on September 7, 1947, to the late Karl A. and Mary K. (Bartolovich) Kalinowski, Sr., Karl graduated from Streetsboro High School in 1966, where he excelled in football and baseball.

A proud veteran of the Ohio National Guard M. Company 3/107 Armour Calvary, Karl was honored as Soldier of the Year in 1982 and was honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant. He dedicated years of service as a material handler at Ford Motor Company in Walton Hills, affectionately known as "Krazy Karl," until his retirement in 1997.

Karl's impact extended beyond his professional life as he coached baseball and football in Edinburg and Kent, positively influencing the lives of many young athletes. He had a deep passion for the outdoors, enjoying hunting and fishing, cheering on his grandchildren at sporting events, and supporting the Cleveland Indians and Browns.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of nearly 49 years, Amy L. Kalinowski, whom he married on April 26, 1975, his children Karl John, Kevin (Kristen), Michelle (Max Millhoan), his grandchildren Kassie (Kyle), Shelby (Ryan), Josie, Ky, Kade, his great-grandchildren Lila, Jonah, Oakley, and his sisters Beverly McElroy and Alexsa Wanchick, and brother in law Dana Metheney, sister in law Beth (Luke) Clark as well as extended family and friends.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2024, from 1:00 PM until the time of the service at 5:00 PM at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Streetsboro Chapel, with Michel Heroux presiding.
