It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ken "Kenneth Franklin" Saltsman, aged 92, of Ravenna, Ohio. Ken departed this world on October 23, 2023, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of love. Born on April 6, 1931 to Emma and Oscar Saltsman, Ken proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army achieving the rank of Corporal as an Airborne Paratrooper. He spent many years as a carpenter as well, helping to construct many memorable venues throughout the area, such as the old Sea World amusement park and Akron General Hospital. In his free time he loved camping, riding his motorcycle, crafting with his wife and grandchildren, and gardening. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years Anna Saltsman, brothers and sister Warren, Carl, Robert, Albert, Milo , Elwood, and Dolores, as well as his parents. Left to mourn his loss are his beloved daughter and son , Cassandra Saltsman, and Vincent Saltsman (Sherry), and sister Goldie Harper (Lloyd). Ken was a loving grandfather to Daniel Bradley (Amber), Ryan Saltsman (Danielle), and Wesley Saltsman (Adreanna), who brought immense joy to his life. He also leaves behind his precious great-grandchildren, Logan and Amara Bradley, Remington Saltsman, and Quinn Saltsman as well as countless nieces and nephews. In honor of Ken's memory, a private memorial service with military honors will be held to pay tribute to his life and service to his country. During this time of profound loss and grief, we find comfort in the knowledge that Ken's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. May we find solace in the many cherished moments we shared with this remarkable man, as we bid farewell to a beloved father, grandfather, and friend. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at Alz.org
