Leonard Edward "Lenny" Retherford, Sr. 79, passed away Saturday April 2, 2022 at Winter Garden Heath and Rehab in Winter Garden, Florida. On April 11, 1942 he was born in Edinburg, Ohio to the late Ernest H. and Catherine Leona (Bickett) Retherford. He worked at Terex and he was retired from the Ravenna School District where he worked in Food Service. He was also a veteran of the US Army. He was very active in the Ravenna Rams youth football program with his wife for over 20 years. Together they supported their three sons in football and all of their sports activities. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Warner, Dick, Beverly, Dolores, his in-laws Carl and Vera Summers, Carl, Jr., Robert, and Don Summers, Mike White and Wanda Reed, and John Sullivan. Survivors include his wife of almost 58 years, the love of his life, Patricia Marie (Summers) Retherford whom he married April 22, 1964, his sons Lenny (Wendy), Jr. of Olive Branch, MS., Steven (Chris) of Ravenna, Joe (Betsy) of Canton, his grandchildren Lauren (Sam) Billings, Elyse (Ryan McBride) Retherford, Courtney (Josh) Linscheid, Kirsten (Chris) Paladino, Luke, Justin, Ethan, Caleb Retherford, John Cox, Marley, Ryder, and Haidyn Ward, his great grandchildren Anna Jaye, Barrett Linscheid and Kennedy Paladino, his sister Gloria Darst, and in-laws Ann Summers, Linda Summers, Barbara (Walt) Miazga, Ida Summers, Nelva White, Pam (Steve) Lee, Cheryl (Rich) Creech, Debbie (Jim) Maddern, and Mark (Amy) Summers as well as many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Saturday April 9, 2022 from 10:00 AM until time of funeral services at 12:30 PM with Danny Peyton officiating at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel.
