Marjorie E (Lyon) Taylor

October 15, 1934 — February 5, 2025

Randolph

Marjorie passed away peacefully on February 5, 2025 ,with her daughters by her side. She was born on October 15, 1934, and was so excited to celebrate her 90th birthday with a big party in October! Marjorie is survived by her daughters Carol Johnson, Debbie McCourt (Wesley), and Karen Hassett (Bob), six Grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and her beloved cat, Bessie. She was preceded in death by her husband Ray, parents Percy and Jesse Captola Lyon, sister Olive Young, and son-in-law Edward Schaefer. Marge brought smiles and “bling” everywhere she went and seldom met a stranger . . . but on the rare occasion when she did they were invited over for coffee and cards.  She and Ray, whom she married, in 1952, purchased their “forever home” on four acres in 1966 where they raised their family and she remained there until the age of 88 when she moved to an independent living apartment at Copeland Oaks in Sebring, Ohio. Marge LOVED living at Copeland Oaks where she made more friends and revelled in all the activities.  The staff at Copeland made our mother’s life complete. They became cherished friends that genuinely loved her and the staff in Assisted Living 1 went so far above and beyond their job descriptions to make her comfortable during her time there that we don’t know how we could possibly convey our gratitude.  There are no words to describe their compassionate and loving care.  They cared for mom as if she were their own mother. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Randolph Fire Department who “rescued” Marge often when she was still in the house, Copeland Employee Christmas Fund because every single employee at Copeland Oaks deserves to be appreciated — they are all awesome, or the Aultman (Alliance) Hospice who were angels in providing loving care and everything she needed during the last months of Marge’s life. Friends will be received on Monday, February 10th, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Friendship Bible Church, 1703 Ohio 44 Randolph, OH 44265 where she was a long-time member. A celebration of life and funeral service, officiated by Pastor Phil Ross, will begin immediately following visitation.  Interment will  follow at Hillside Cemetery in Randolph.
