Mark S. Dickerhoof

Mark S. Dickerhoof, 67, of Ravenna passed away Sunday, October 29, 2023 at UH Portage Medical Center. A lifelong resident of Ravenna, he was born May 26, 1956 to Donald J. and Lois L. (Rebrook) Dickerhoof. Mark is a 1974 graduate of Ravenna High School and a 2008 graduate of Kent State University with a B.S. in Technology. Mark's career began at IFSI in Streetsboro, but afterwards, he worked as an electrician for decades, first at TRW in Cleveland, then for 15 years at PPG Industries in Barberton. Mark enjoyed spending time outdoors camping, boating and fishing, and was a member of the First Christian Church of Ravenna. Survivors include his wife of 40 years Sheryl (Swartz) Dickerhoof, daughter Alison (Mike) Shelley and grandson Silas Shelley. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews, and great- nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Robin Dean. Memorial services will be Monday, November 6, 2023 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel. Calling hours begin at 11 AM with a funeral service to follow at 12 PM. A private family burial will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery in Ravenna. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Mark's memory to the Portage County Historical Society or the Portage County Animal Protective League.
