Mary S (Sites) Jones

Mary Sites-Jones, 68, of Rootstown passed away January 15, 2020 with her husband at her side. Mary lived in Rootstown for 26 years. She was a resident of Arbors of Stow since August. Mary was born February 8, 1951 in Portland, Indiana to Paul and Goldie (Faris) Sites. She graduated fron University High School in Kent,  and from Kent State University. Before retiring, she was a credit counseling manager for Family and Community Services, and served 26 years working for non-profit agencies. Mary loved antiquing, classic movies, and traveling.  She had a beautiful voice, and loved singing the oldies. She and her husband spent many hours restoring their century home and barn. Mary loved living there. She had a great sense of humor and was devoted to all her family.  Survivors include her husband of 26 years, David, mother Goldie, brother Danny, sister Katie, stepdaughters Rachel (Aron), Amanda (Brian), and Emily (Nakoa), grandchildren Leo, Ava, and Clara, nieces Heather (Dan), Jenny (Davy), and nephews Dante (Sarah), Paul (Kate), and Martin. Mary battled early-onset Alzheimer's disease for 14 years, and lived at home for nearly all that time. Through the years her sister Katie was her constant companion. Caregivers and friends, Patty and Kathy, spent special time with her the past few years. Special thanks to the kind, compassionate staff at Arbors of Stow for caring for Mary in her final months. Also, thank you to Harbour Light Hospice of Cuyahoga Falls for the loving care given in her final days. Thanks to Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Home for their  service. Cremation has taken place and no services are planned. A Celebration of Life will be held in May at the family farm.
