Melody S. Atkinson

Melody S. Atkinson, 68 of Ravenna, OH, passed away on Friday July 29, 2022 at the Longmeadow Care Center in Ravenna. She was born on February 22, 1954 in Akron, Ohio to the late Boyd and Marion (Pike) Matthews. Her favorite things to do were spending time with family. She loved cookouts, Halloween parties and get togethers. She had a passion for holiday decorating and she enjoyed her coloring. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her common law husband Michael L. Bond,  her sister Noreen Matthews and son in law Bryan D. Hathaway. Survivors include her daughters Sonnia S. (Brian Riddle) Atkinson, JoAnne L. (Bernard) Rang, her grandchildren Tyler ( Haley Aiken) Barlow, Nathan (Nicole) Hathaway, Austin (Ariana Stephens) Fox, Bernie Rang, Jr., Noah (Tatiana Hager) Hathaway, Jaylyn (David Jenkins) Rang, Nicole (Mark Sisler) Hathaway, her great grandchildren Autum, Bryson, Xavier, Ahlyus, Levi and three on the way, as well as many adoptive children and grandchildren over the years, and her siblings Cheryl (John) Clason, Marsha Meese and Alan (Pamela) Matthews. Calling hours will be held from 3:00PM to 5:00PM on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel. In honoring her request, cremation will follow the calling hours. We would like to invite everyone to gather with us afterwards at the Moose Club located at 5727 St. Rt. 14 Ravenna, Ohio 44266.
