Nancy (Colecchi) Mascio

Nancy Mascio, 91 of Ravenna, passed away Friday November 23, 2018 at the Village of St. Edwards in Fairlawn, Ohio.  She was born on February 3, 1927 in Ravenna, Ohio to the late Joseph and Gilda (DiCola) Colecchi.  Mrs. Mascio has lived in Portage County since 1951, where she was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and had formerly lived in Italy.  She had worked as a seamstress for Euclid Mfg. and had also owned Mario Angelo’s Pizza in Garrettsville with her husband.   In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband Mario Mascio in 1984, her son Salvatore Mascio in 1991, her brother Paul Colecchi, her sister-in-law Maria Colecchi and her niece Patricia Colecchi. Survivors include her grandchildren Mario Mascio, Gino (Mayra) Mascio , her daughter in law Margaret (Tom) Medzie,  her siblings Vincent Colecchi and Benny (Josephine) Colecchi, sister-in-law Josephine Colecchi, her in-laws Roberto and Pina Mascio, Maria Tronti  of New York, Luisa and Paulo Giordano of California, Edda Agati,  Pasquina Brigato and Ugo and Maria Mascio all of Italy and many nieces, nephews, cousins and great nieces and nephews.  Calling hours will be held Wednesday December 19, 2018 from 5-7 PM at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Thursday December 20, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Church Ravenna, Ohio with burial to follow in St. Mary Cemetery Ravenna, Ohio.  Condolences and memories of Nancy may be shared with her family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Village of St. Edward Fund at Akron Community Foundation, www.akroncf.org/give/VillageofStEdwardFund
