Ray R. Stanley passed away Thursday, January 14, 2021 at UH Portage Medical Center after a courageous battle with Covid-19. He was so looking forward to his 90th birthday celebration in March. He was born in Windham, Ohio to Frank and Amy (Alderman) Stanley. Ray was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. He had worked for Polson Rubber for 20 years prior to retirement in1993 from Robinson Memorial Hospital. Survivors include his daughters Barbara Gill, Brenda Tawney, Judy Paulus (Sam), Sharon O’Shields (Bobby), Janet Black (Allen) and Tonny Robinson-Barber (Chuck), 14 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, 14 great great grandchildren, siblings Norma Walters, Jim and Ralph Stanley and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Ruth and siblings Eleanor and Opal Vanderpool, Charlotte Watson, Helen Podojil, Cora Bell Kaser and LeRoy and Donald Stanley. Calling hours will be from 12 PM until time of funeral services at 1 PM Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel. Reverend Denny Fox will officiate. Burial will follow in Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent.
