Richard O. Churchill, age 84, a proud American and Navy Veteran having served his beloved country Honorably in WWII and the Korean War , went to join our Lord and his fallen shipmates on July 3, 2010. Dick was born in Hamburg, New York on June 9, 1926 to the late Homer and Hilda "Honey" Churchill. Survived by his beloved "wiffie" of 34 years, Diane Churchill (nee Fearon), son, Mark (Debbie) Churchill, daughter, Susan (Glenn) Barriball and, son, James (Polly) Churchill, second father to, Kim Howard and Ralph J. Howard III, sister, Nancy (Clark) Bothfeld; and former wife, Dorothy Churchill. Grandfather to, Zachary (Londa) Churchill, Matthew Churchill, Kate (Andrew) Ashenfelter, Kelly Barriball, also second grandfather to, Lindsey Howard, and Ralph "Jacob" Howard, and great-grandfather to, Ella Ashenfelter. Memorial service to be held Monday, July 12 at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery , 10175 Rawiga Road, Rittman, OH 44270 , promptly at 11:00 AM. Meet at the Cemetery no later than 11:00 AM. A celebration of Dick's life will be held immediately following the services at the home of Dick and Diane Churchill from 1:00 until 4:00 PM. In honor of Dick's memory, casual patriotic attire is requested for both the Memorial Service and the Open House.
