Robert Miller Obituary

Here it goes Dad, I hope we got it right for you.

On June 14, 2022 Robert (Bob) Louis Miller, 78, of Shalersville, went to be with our Lord peacefully with his devoted children by his side from complications of kidney disease.

On November 8, 1943 Bob was born to the late Louis & Evelyn Miller who he loved so very much.

He was a proud 1961 graduate of Orange High School. This is where he met and then married his high school sweetheart, our mom Valerie. They celebrated nearly 53 years of marriage before her passing in 2017. They made their home in Shalersville where they raised their family. They had 3 great kids if we do say so ourselves. He loved and is survived by his children and their spouses; son Mike (Faye), his daughter’s Denise (Darin) and Pam (John). Pam was his best birthday present  - born on his birthdate! His grandchildren, Ally (Mike), Tiffany, Katie (Vince), Micky (Amber), Derrick (Hayley), Valerie Jr & Stephen. Great Grandpa to Braxton, Collin, Parker, & Rhett. Also surviving is his sister Jeannette Bonner, nephew Mark Lachinsky, niece Karen Lachinsky and cousin Barb Brewster.

Bob will be especially missed by his longtime best friends who were like family, Bernie Thompson & his sons. Also his childhood best friend & classmate Chuck “Uncle Charlie” Yeaser and classmate Joe Doran whom he reconnected with after their 50 year class reunion. They both kept in touch regularly until his passing. Other special people in his life were Anita, Anna, Kelly & Theresa.

Bob retired from EATON Corporation (St Gobain) in Aurora. Prior to that he also worked at Lexico before it’s closing & BF Goodrich.

Our Dad was a Jack of all trades and had an amazing memory for trivia and music from the 50’s & 60’s. He could build, fix or make anything with perfection. He had a passion and love for motorcycles, cars and hot rods. This created lifelong friends that spent countless hours together - tinkering, talking shop, working on and restoring cars, and going to car cruises any day of the week. He was a member of the Cool Cat Cruisers Car Club. He was also known to many as “Lance Diamond”, and had a knack for sharing magic tricks and jokes with his witty sense of humor to anyone who would watch or listen.

Please celebrate our Dad’s life with us.

(Feel free to wear your favorite Fedora or hat.) Calling hours will be from 10 AM until time of funeral services at 12 PM Monday, June 20, 2022 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Shalersville followed by a celebration luncheon held at the Shalersville Townhall on the corner of SR 303 and SR 44 . In lieu of flowers memorials should be made to Hattie Larlham, 9772 Diagonal Road, Mantua, OH 44255.

We will forever love and miss you Dad.
