On Saturday, December 25, 2021, Rose Mary Platt, loving wife and mother of two children passed away at age 67. Rose was born on October 25,1954 in Melvindale, MI. She graduated from Melvindale High School in 1972 and worked as an administrative assistant and executive administrator. On November 3, 1975, Rose married Dennis Michael Platt and together raised a daughter and son, Kelly and Nick. Rose was creative and artistic and had a passion for painting, drawing, sewing, crochet and needlework. Her beautiful paintings, drawings and exquisitely designed afghans are cherished by her family and friends. She also loved singing and gardening, was known for her quirky sense of humor and quick wit. We take great comfort in knowing Rose is in a place that is beyond all pain and suffering. Our prayer for her is that she has found the peace and joy that so often eluded her in life and that she is right now experiencing that true eternal peace.  Rose was preceded in death by her father, Herdis Robbins and mother Mary (Welch) Robbins of Gleason, TN and her brother Allen Hatfield, of Walls, MS. She is survived by her husband Dennis Platt; her two children, Kelly Anne (Platt) Wideman (husband Ray) and her grandchildren, Alexandra Rose Wideman, Emily Anne Wideman and Stephen Conor Wideman, all of Hernando, MS, and Nicholas (Nick) Adam Platt of Streetsboro, OH; her brothers, Harvey Hatfield (wife Brenda) of Horn Lake, MS; James Robbins of Olive Branch,MS and James Ford of Birmingham, Al; as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.  Unfortunately do to the current Covid 19 pandemic we will not have a public service. We do plan of having a memorial service at a later date. The family has asked that any donations in her name go to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
