Rose Szumski

Rose Szumski, 93 of Streetsboro passed away Monday April 19, 2021 at the Heritage of Hudson Nursing Home.  On September 29, 1027, Rose was born in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Joseph and Catherine (Sifter) Skocic.  She has lived in Streetsboro since 1956 and was a member of St. Joann of Arc Church where she was active in the Altar and Rosary Society.  Rose was very active in Streetsboro being involved with the Golden Gateway Group, the Streetsboro Senior Citizens, Streetsboro American Legion as well as the Red Hat Society.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Edward on March 6, 1995, her children Donna Blinn, John Szumski and her siblings  Mary Bolf, Julia Koontz, Agnes Patrick, John Skocic and George Skocic.   Survivors include her children Denise Whitten, Diane (Kip) Latshaw, Edward (Bonnie) Szumski, Stephen (Barbara) Szumski,  George Szumski, 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.  Calling hours will be Thursday April 22, 2021 from 5-8 Pm at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Streetsboro Chapel.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 Am Friday April 23, 2021 at St. Joan of Arc Church in Streetsboro with Father Christopher Luoni Officiating.  Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery Streetsboro, Ohio.
