Sandra J. (Sowers) Simmons

Sandra J. Simmons 72 of Ravenna passed away Wednesday at UH Portage Medical Center in Ravenna, Ohio.  Mrs. Simons was born September 12, 1943 in Barberton, Ohio to the late Fred and Margaret (Bryan) Sowers and has lived in Ravenna most of her life.  For over 30 years she has worked as a nurses aide for several area facilities.  She loved crocheting, doing crossword puzzles and spending time with her family.  Survivors include her husband Dennis B. Simmons whom she married November 19, 1971, her daughters Shannon (Douglas) Moore, Sonya (Kevin) Moore both of Atwater, her grandchildren Cody, Savannah, Skylar, Chance, Brandon, her great grandson Gage and siblings Sue Pulo of Streetsboro, Pam Gargano of Ravenna, Fred (Nancy) Sowers of Ellet and Terry Johnson of KY.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.  Calling hours will be Sunday November 22, 2015 from 1-4 PM at Shorts Spicer Crislip Ravenna Chapel where funeral services will be Monday November 23, 2015 at 1:30 PM.  Rev.
