Stephen A. Kolar, 64 of Hudson passed away early Tuesday morning August 3, 2021 at his home. He was born on January 8, 1957 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Stephen and H. Audrey (Everhart) Kolar. Stephen has lived in Hudson since 2002 and was formerly of Streetsboro, Ohio. He had worked at Kresse’s and Sea World of Ohio and was the proprietor of Special Moments Catering. He has been influential to the administration of the City of Streetsboro for over 30 years. Stephen was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church in Streetsboro and was a 3rd degree Knight with the Streetsboro Knights of Columbus. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Robert on May 23, 2021. Survivors include his wife Darlene M. (Lassak) Kolar whom he married October 15, 1994, his brothers George Kolar, David (Kanitta) Kolar, his nephews Luke Kolar and Jacob Kremer, and his niece Ashleigh Kremer, and his feline companion Puff. His bold and direct style of communication was balanced by his kind and giving heart. He was a great friend, teacher, counselor, and mentor to countless people, young and old, in politics, business and in life. He was a big presence in a lot of lives and will be tremendously missed. Calling hours will be from 4-7 pm Monday August 9, 2021 at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Streetsboro Chapel. Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 am Tuesday August 10, 2021 at St. Joan of Arc Church Streetsboro, Ohio. Father Chris Luoni will be officiating the mass. Burial will follow in Standing Rock Cemetery Kent, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations please be made in Stephen's honor to the Portage County APL or the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.
