Susan Janka, 96, of Edinburg, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2021 at her home in the loving arms of her husband. Susan was born November 13, 1924 in Ravenna, Ohio to her immigrant parents the late Amel and Helen (Kuba) Bobby. She spent her life in Ravenna & Edinburg Township where she was a homemaker, taking care of her husband of 73 years and their two children. Susan’s passion was gardening and planting flowers and spent many years as a member of the Workbasket Club. She was an avid baker and enjoyed baking breads and cookies. She was a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary Post 1055 and enjoyed polka dancing with her beloved husband Sam. Susan was an ovarian cancer survivor of 17 years. She was a member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church. She was preceded in death by her siblings John Maydak, Pete Bobby, Ann Dubinsky, Mary Kuyon, Olga Ringley, Irene Kovak and Helen Barna. Susan is survived by her husband, Sam, children Claudia Janka and Sam (Ann) Janka, and two grandchildren, Jeremy (Jessica) Sosenko and Jamie Metzger. Two great grandchildren Anna and Olivia and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, January 20, 2021 from 12:00PM until time of funeral services at 1:00PM at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel with Father Nicholas Wyslutsky officiating.
