Susan D Lock

Susan D. Lock, 76, passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at the Avenue at Aurora. Born to the late Henry and Margery Lock, she lived most of her life in Portage County. Over the course of her life she held secretarial positions at Flintkote, Portage County Municipal Court and both Courtesy and Haasz auto dealerships. Sue was able to share her creativity and passion of caring for others during her time as an Activities Director at Altercare of Ravenna. Sue extended her desire to help others by volunteering as a firefighter and EMT for the Paris Township Fire Department, delivering meals for Meals on Wheels, and by being recognized as an honorary blood donor with the American Red Cross. Also known as Susie Q, she loved to spend time in nature: from the back of a horse during her childhood to camping and digging in the dirt of her flower gardens later in life. She loved anything to do with Mickey Mouse, but her most favorite thing was time spent with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother David Lock. Survivors include her children Lisa (Robert) Winkler, Hank (Susie) Hoover, Jennifer (Brian) Sabol, Michael (Noel Soto) Chmielewski, her grandchildren Brandon, Rebecca, Robert, Catherine, James, Henry, Allison, Mackenzie, Jordin, Everett, five great-grandchildren and siblings Jeff Lock and Dolly Lock. In honoring her requests, cremation has taken place and no services will be held. The family asks that memorial donations be made in her honor to the American Red Cross, the American Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor's choice.
