Geraldine Elizabeth Dufford-Yoho-Fronhapfel of Randolph passed away after a short illness on Tuesday May 2, 2017 at the Woodlands at Robinson in Ravenna, Ohio. Born November 3, 1926 in New Castle, PA, she was the daughter of Jesse and Eleanor Dufford both preceded her in death along with her husband Neil Yoho, brothers Jesse Dufford and James Dufford. Geri lived in Randolph, Ohio for the past 25 years and is survived by her loving husband John Fronhapfel who danced into her life 25 years ago. She leaves behind her sons David (Alice) Yoho and Daniel (Karen) Yoho along with grandchildren Heidi Yoho, Todd Yoho, Ali Yoho and Adam Yoho plus great grandchildren Sofia, Amelia and Kai. Geri was also blessed to be part of John's family including his children,, Elizabeth, Patrick, Michael, Tina, Bert and Ann along with 17 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Geri came to Rootstown, Ohio in 1965 from New Castle, PA and proudly became the first female bus driver in Portage County when she went to work for Rootstown Schools. In 1967 she became the food service manager for Rootstown High Schools and retired in that position after 35 years. Always up for fun and a good time, she loved to be around family and friends, enjoyed cooking (especially for gatherings), crocheting, quilting, traveling, playing golf and especially the beach. Geraldine never met a beach she didn't like. Walking the beach, collecting shells and sharks teeth (Shelllladygeri) as she fed her sun worshiping passion during their winter vacation in Florida was a daily goal. Her engaging smile and passion for life will be greatly missed by her family and friends with each taking away lasting thoughts and memories created during the time we knew her. Calling hours will be from 4-7 Pm Thursday May 4, 2017 at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel where funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday May 5, 2017 with Pastor Bill Johnson officiating.
