Lonnie "The Tin Man" Rossow 81 of Ravenna passed away Saturday, March 25, 2017 after a long battle with Alzheimers. He was born October 14, 1935 in Clarington, Ohio to Sam and Martha (Reed) Coe and he was later adopted by Charles Rossow. Lonnie moved to the Ravenna area at the age of 5 and graduated from Ravenna High School. After graduation he joined the Marines and later the Air Force then retired out of the National Guard in 1987. He worked as a sheet metal worker for 17 years at the Ravenna Arsenal and retired from WR Grace where he did research and development. Lonnie loved music, street rods, swap meets, flying helicopters and all animals, especially his dogs Flower and Theo. He is preceded in death by his parents Martha and Charles Rossow and Sam Coe and his beloved dog Lady. Lonnie will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 34 years Patsy (Cripe) Rossow, son Scott (Theresa) Rossow of Ravenna, brothers George (Rhonda) Rossow of Ravenna, Bill (Nancy) Smith of Englewood, FL, Sam, Mike and Joe Coe of California, sisters Sue (Ron) Vojtkofsky of Ravenna, Pat and Sue Coe of California, step children Tane (Gregg) Adams of Goshen, IN, Darcy (Tina) Shurtz of Elkhart, IN and Leanne (Joe) Rainieri of Ravenna, step grandchildren Rachel (Eric) Dickison, Adam, Kayleigh and Sara Shurtz, Chelsea (Ryan) Russo, Cassandra and Katelynn Dearth, great grandchild Hailey, many nieces and nephews, brother and sister in law Larry (Jean) Cripe of Goshen, IN and special cousins Lynn and Nancy Waltenbaugh. Calling hours will be from 2 PM until time of funeral service at 4:30 PM Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel. Chaplain Don Kainrad will officiate. In lieu of flowers  donations should be made to the Kevin Coleman Adult Day Care where Lonnie attended the last 4 years due to Alzheimers or to the Portage County APL. The family would like to thank Kevin Coleman Adult Day Care and UH Hospice for their loving support.
