Martin J. "Marty" Nagella 57 a lifelong resident of Rootstown was embraced by our Lord on Friday, February 17, 2017 after a long courageous battle with respiratory disease. He was born January 3, 1960 in Ravenna to Anthony and Margaret (Furst) Nagella. He enjoyed being involved in school sports from playing football to wrestling. His other interest included playing golf, skeet shooting, playing video games and spending time with his faithful companion  his dog Zena. He was very proud of his  soffit and siding company and his work was highly regarded. He was preceded in death by his grandmothers Katherine Rose Furst and Carmilla Nagella, grandfather Paul Nagella, stepfather Charles Hinkle and step brother Fred Hinkle. Survivors include his father Anthony "Tony" Nagella , mother Peggy Hinkle step mother Joyce Nagella, brothers Mike Nagella, David Hinkle, Ed Hinkle and Ron Hinkle, sisters Janice Durr and Carm Nagella, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Grace Church of Rootstown (formerly New Milford Baptist), 4808 Tallmadge Road, Rootstown, Ohio with Elder Hal Johnson officiating. A procession and burial will follow to Homeland Cemetery in Rootstown. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the family in care of Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home, 141 N. Meridian Street, Ravenna, Ohio 44266.
