A. Kenneth Boydell  82 of Rootstown died Tuesday, September 4, 2012. He was born March 26, 1930 in Cleveland, OH to Arthur and Gladys (Bullock) Boydell. Mr. Boydell was a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Ravenna, where he was in the choir, served on Vestry as Jr. & Sr. Warden and was a longtime member of Ravenna Rotary. He graduated from Case Institute of Technology in 1952 and was the Sanitary Engineer for Portage County for 28 years before his retirement. Survivors include his wife Alice (Waddell) Hyer, daughters Ann (Joe) Owen of Wisconsin, Susan (Ken Brasch) Boydell of Texas, Janet (Marc) Schoenecker of Texas and Ellen (Chris) Pearce of Mason, OH, grandchildren Mary Catherine, Benjamin & John Owen, Samantha & Olivia Schoenecker and Elliot & Henry Pearce,  sister Gail Smith of Mansfield, OH, 2 nieces and 1 nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife Mary Lou Boydell. Calling hours will be from 6 - 8 PM Friday, September 7, 2012 at Shorts Spicer CrislipFuneral Home Ravenna Chapel. Funeral services will be at 10 AM Saturday, September 8, 2012 at Grace Episcopal Church in Ravenna with Rev. Carol Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park in Ravenna. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials to Grace Episcopal Church, 250 W. Cedar Street, Ravenna, OH 44266 or the Alzheimer's Association, 1815 W. Market Street, Suite 301, Akron, OH 44313.
